Kent Island Resort | A VIVÂMEE Property

Kent Island Resort is seeking a skilled, hands-on Hotel Maintenance Engineer to support the daily operation, safety, and appearance of our historic waterfront property.

This role is essential to ensuring a seamless guest experience by maintaining all resort facilities, guest rooms, event spaces, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work while contributing to a team culture rooted in Joy, Humility, and Ministry.

What You’ll Do

Facility & Preventative Maintenance

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
• Identify, troubleshoot, and repair maintenance issues in a timely manner
• Execute work orders and track completion to ensure operational efficiency

Repairs & Operations Support

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and team members
• Repair equipment, fixtures, appliances, and building systems as needed
• Assist in setup and breakdown for events, weddings, and programming
• Ensure all tools, equipment, and workspaces are properly maintained

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policies
• Support fire, life safety, and emergency systems maintenance
• Maintain safe working conditions and report any hazards immediately
• Participate in safety training and drills

Grounds & Property Care

• Assist in maintaining exterior areas, including landscaping, walkways, and waterfront areas
• Monitor overall property condition and proactively address maintenance needs
• Support seasonal projects such as weatherproofing, facility upgrades, and equipment servicing

Team & Culture

• Collaborate with leadership and other departments to support resort operations
• Deliver service with professionalism and a guest-first mindset
• Embody and promote VIVÂMEE’s culture and values in daily work

What You Bring

• 2–5+ years of maintenance experience in hospitality, facilities, or a related field
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Basic computer skills for work order systems (preferred)
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
